EMPLOYEE RELATIONS & WELFARE

Employee Relations & Welfare Department (ERWD) is one of the four (4) Departments under the Career Management Office (CMO) of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation. The Department is divided into five divisions namely: Occupational Health, Safety & Environment; HRMIS & Staff Records; Benefits Administration; Employee & Industrial Relations; and Help Services.

FUNCTIONS

  • Guidelines for Health, Safety & Environment;
  • Oversee Civil Service Clubs abd Federal Public Service Games (FEPSGA);
  • Allocation of office spaces to specified MDAs
  • Provision of approved welfare services e.g. creches, catering;
  • Provide transport and utility services;
  • Management of office facilities including access control (Fed. Sec. Complex Phases II & III
  • HRMIS Management;
  • First line user orientation and support (first line);
  • Genetic data reports;
  • User requirements for HRM system development update/installation;
  • Coordinate new hire on-boarding;
  • Coordinate input of staff data into HRMIS;
  • Manage National Records Centre;
  • Plan and Budget for retirement benefits;
  • Service-wide gratuity and pensions;
  • Employee Group Life Assurance
  • Oversee the loans board and all welfare schemes;
  • Initiate and implement policies on Employment policies on Employee & Industrial Relations;
  • Discipline and grievance procedures;
  • Industrial dispute resolution;
  • Secretariat services for National Public Service Negotiating Council;
  • Workshops, Seminars and Conferences on Industrial Relations in the Public Service;
  • Recognition schemes;
  • Manage proposed OHCSF service centre;
  • Provide first level response to employee queries and complaints.
