GOV. OKOROCHA APPEALS TO FG FOR COMPLETION OF SKILLS ACQUISITION CENTRE

The Executive Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha has appealed to the Federal Government to intensify effort in completing the Skill Acquisition Centre in Owerri, Imo State in order to fast track economic development in the state.

The Governor made the appeal when the Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs, Prof. Claudius Omoleye Daramola paid him a courtesy visit in his office on Friday, 13th of April, 2018.

Governor Okorocha said Imo State, being one of the nine member States of the Niger Delta Region has not benefitted much from the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs. To this end, he implored the Federal Government to help complete the centre which has been abandoned for over four years.

He further expressed the readiness of the Imo State Government to partner with the Ministry in bringing development to the people of Imo State.

Speaking earlier the Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs, Prof. Claudius Omoleye Daramola promised that the Federal Government will complete the Skill Acquisition Centre in no distance time as the government is not leaving any stone unturned in bringing the dividends of democracy to the people.

He also said the skill acquisition centre, a laudable project is earmarked by the Ministry to add value to the lives of the people of Imo State and help in the diversification of the economy in line with the vision of President Muhammadu Buhari.
