Dr. Ajani, Magdalene Nwanwuche hails from Agbor, Delta State.

She holds MBBS degrees from the University of Benin and FWACS from Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi Araba.

Dr. Ajani started her working career with the Lagos State Health Management Board in October 1992 as a Medical Officer. She worked and went through several trainings and rose to the post of Consultant Ophthalmologist in 2001.

She joined the Federal Government Service in March 2006 as the first full time Consultant Ophthalmologist in the State House Medical Centre. She rose to the position of Director in January 2013.

As a passionate and dedicated Ophthalmologist, she encouraged and built a formidable eye care team with Ophthalmologists and Optometrists with specialisation in different fields of eye care.

Dr. Magdalene Ajani was one of the pioneering Consultants and medical specialists in the Centre. She encouraged and mentored her younger colleagues to medical specialisation. She was Chairperson, Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC) of the hospital from 2008 - May 2010. As chairperson, Dr. Ajani advocated for good work ethics and efficient service delivery.

Her continuous drive to acquire knowledge has taken her to local and international professional courses in Kenya, Austria and USA among others.

She is a fellow of the West African College of Surgeons, Fellow of the International College of Surgeons, and Glaucoma subspecialist of International Council of Ophthalmology. She also has certificates in Management from Crown agents, Worthing (U.K), and Leadership & Management from University of Washington (USA).

In her quest to give back to the society and her love for humanity and the underprivileged, Dr. Ajani volunteers her time/services as the Lead of Fountain of Joy & Comfort Foundation (NGO). The Foundation provides free eye care/surgery, maternal & child health and education to the less privileged in FCT & its environs, Delta and Imo States. Over 20,000 people have benefitted under the Foundation.

Her hobbies include swimming, traveling and gyming.
