The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HOS), Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan has called on Nigerian workers to use this period of COVID-19 pandemic to reflect on the global response to the scourge and adapt new trends for the sustenance of humanity.

She said “we must now brace ourselves for the challenges and opportunities that may arise during the easing of the lockdown and post – COVID – 19 “.

Dr Yemi –Esan made this call in the  goodwill message she delivered on the occasion of a virtual event to commemorate the 2020 International Workers’ day on Friday, 1st May, 2020.

The HOS therefore encouraged workers to equip themselves with relevant skills and knowledge including the fostering and exploration of partnerships that would enhance productivity.

Dr Yemi- Esan also commended the resilience of Nigerian workers, the brave men and women working round the clock to provide essential services in response to the pandemic; especially health workers on the frontline. She offered sincere condolences to the families and colleagues of those who had to pay the ultimate price.

The HOS  solicited for the continued support and solidarity of public and private sector workers to the Administration in its various economic stabilization efforts which are cardinal for the nation’s economy to successfully rebound and be stronger.
