The foundation plays a pivotal role in driving culture change in various ways within the civil service. Through its Emily Aig-Imoukhuede Memorial Award for Excellence in Public Service, which started in the year 2022, cash prizes have been awarded to a total of 72 Civil Servants. This yearly Award ushers into the Service a paradigm shift, where Civil Servants are motivated to imbibe culture change and align with the Vision and Mission of the OHCSF in transforming the Service. By this, a culture of accountability, meritocracy, professionalism, loyalty, and efficiency is maintained and sustained in Civil Servants. Civil Servants have continued to receive leadership training and development opportunities through the foundation’s efforts. Programmes such as the Senior Leaders Programme, Public Leaders Programme, the AIG Scholarships and the support for the Leadership Enhancement and Development Programme (LEAD-P) have not only enhanced the professional capabilities but also cultivated a cadre of capable leaders in those Civil Servants that have been privileged to access these opportunities. This has to a very large extent helped them in effectively driving the OHCSF's mission and values across the Federal Civil Service.
The Foundation also supported the OHCSF in obtaining ISO 9001:2005 Quality Management System (QMS) certification. With this process, some staff of the OHCSF and SERVICOM staff were trained and certified as Lead Auditors and Lead Implementers for ISO 9001:2015 QMS and the training not only improved their understanding of quality standards but also instils a culture of continuous improvement. Civil Servants are thus better prepared to meet and exceed quality requirements in their work, enhancing the overall quality of services delivered. With the digitalisation project, the Foundation has supported the OHCSF in the automation of 352 work processes through the implementation of an Enterprise Content Management Solution (ECMS), which has enhanced the efficiency and effectiveness of Civil Servants. With reduction of paper work and the implementation of digital record keeping, workers gain valuable time that can be channelled into more productive activities.
