BE DRIVERS OF CHANGE - HOS

As part of measures to reposition the Federal Civil Service for better performance and accountability, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, has charged Directorate level officers to be more responsive to Federal Civil Service reforms. 

 The Head of the Service gave this charge today while declaring open a Two-day sensitisation workshop for key implementers of reform in the Federal Civil Service, comprising Directors of Human Resources, Information Communication Technology, Planning Research and Statistics and RC&SI.The HOS described the Directorate cadre as the heart of the Civil Service. She noted that the service cannot respond to change without an understanding of the reforms. 

 The Head of Service further disclosed that the Workshop was a continuation of the transformation drive which the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (2017-2020) which ended in December 2020 represented.

She stated that the workshop would afford the implementers the opportunity to make inputs to the successor plan of the FCSSIP 2021-2025, aimed at providing a New Federal Civil Service that is world class for accelerated national development.She further said that for a successor plan to be successful and bring back a sense of pride, stakeholders must be involved at the beginning of every project for seamless implementation.

 In the same vein the Permanent Secretary, Service Policy and Strategies Office (SPSO), Dr. Emmanuel Meribole represented by the Director Organisation Development and Design (ODD), Mr. Ben Omogo in his opening remarks, stated that the end -term review of the FCSSIP 2017-2020 identified the need to improve communication and inclusiveness in outlined reform programmes for more effective impacts. 

According to Ben, the workshop is a way forward in addressing this identified gap.
