The Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare Office (SWO) in the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Evelyn Ngige has handed over to her successor, Dr (Mrs.) Ngozi Maryanne Onwudiwe. This, followed the redeployment of Permanent Secretaries with her moving to the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment.
In her remarks during the handing and taking over ceremony at the weekend, Dr Ngige thanked her team of Directors as well as members of staff for their support. She urged them to give the new Permanent Secretary their unflinching support to enable her achieve the mandate of her Office.
She further stressed the importance of prioritizing staff welfare, adding that when workers are well motivated, they will put in their best.
In her remarks, Dr (Mrs.) Maryanne Ngozi Onwudiwe promised to run an open door policy and work with all staff to deliver on the mandate of her Office. The Service Welfare Office (SWO), is in charge of the general welfare of civil servants Service-wide, including housing, industrial relations, transportation, pension, insurance, occupational health and safety, in the bid to make life comfortable for civil servants.
