DR. YEMI-ESAN BAGS UI@75 AMBASSADOR AWARD

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, CFR, has been designated as the University of lbadan at 75 Ambassador for her passionate and visionary leadership of the Civil Service, as well as her hardwork, integrity, commitment and outstanding strides toward reforming the Service.

Dr. Yemi-Esan, CFR, attended the prestigious University of Ibadan, Nigeria, where she graduated as the best Bachelor of Dental Surgery student, is being honoured, today, as the UI @75 Anniversary Ambassador by a delegation from the University, led by its Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kayode Oyebode Adebowale, mni, FAS.

While thanking the Vice-Chancellor, the Head of Civil Service recalled her days in the institution, stating that it was not just about academic but a balanced academic and social life. She urged the management of the University to work with the Federal Government in the area of research, adding that both government and institutions of learning need to come together to build a greater country.

Dr. Yemi-Esan, who was joined by the Permanent Secretaries in the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, to receive the Ambassadorial Award, expressed gratitude for the recognition given to her by her Alma Mater, while pledging to do more in the area of research for national development and indigent students.

The University was established in 194 and UI, as it is fondly referred to, is the first University in Nigeria. Until 1962, when it became a full-fledged independent University, it was a College of the University of London. The history and influence of Ul have made it one of the most prestigious Universities in Africa.
