FG EMBARKS ON TRAINING OF NEWLY EMPLOYED STAFF

The Federal Government in continuation of its training programme for civil servants began the second phase of its service –wide training in Abuja.

The week -long training held at the Public Service Institute of Nigeria (PSIN) was declared open on Monday, 19th October, 2020, by the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (HOS), Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan.

In her speech, presented by the Permanent Secretary, Career Management Office (CMO), Mr Mamman Mahmuda, the HOS said the induction training is to give participants a sense of belonging in the service.

 She added, that the training which is part of the implementation of the 2017 -2020 Federal Civil Service Strategy and implementation Plan (FCSSIP) is designed for newly recruited officers on GL 07 -10 to enhance their performance as civil servants in their respective Offices.

The Administrator/Chief Executive Officer, PSIN, Dr. Abdul Ganiyu Obatoyinbo earlier in his welcome remarks encouraged participants to take advantage of the interactive session to learn and benefit from the experiences of the facilitators. He stressed that the seriousness attached to the training would determine how far they may go in service.

The Permanent Secretary, Service Policies and Strategies Office (SPSO), Dr. Emmanuel Meribole in his goodwill message described the induction training as an initiation into the service.

The second phase of the induction training for newly recruited officers on GL 07 – 10 in the Federal Civil Service has Seven Hundred (700) participants. The pilot training in February, 2020 also had 700 participants selected from different pilot Ministries.
