FG REWARDS PUBLIC SERVICE EXCELLENCE AWARDEES- “A PROMISE MADE AND FULFILLED’’-HoSF

In full fulfillment of the promise made during the recently concluded 2024 Civil Service Week Dinner and Award Night, the Federal Government, through the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) has presented six (6) Toyota Camry saloon cars to the 2024 Civil Service Week Public Service Excellence Award recipients. These are a set of workers, who had distinguished themselves, exceptionally, in the delivery of the various duties/tasks assigned to them. 

 

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HoSF), Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, CFR, during the Official Presentation Ceremony on Wednesday 31st July, 2024 stated that “we are here to deliver on the promise that was made and I believe that when you say something, you back it up with a corresponding action, because reality, at all times, vindicates.” She urged Civil Servants to shun gratification in whatever guise and embrace hard work, adding that ‘’there will always be a reward for good performance.’’

 

The recognition is part of measures to create role models, promote a culture that supports the attainment of the goals and objectives of Ministries, extra- Ministerial Departments and Agencies (MDAs) with a view to improving staff productivity and quality of work, in tandem with the sixth pillar of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021-2025 (FCSSIP-25) geared towards enhancing the value proposition of employees for accelerated national development.

 

The beneficiaries are Ndubuisi Barry, Director, Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation; Akoji Perpetual Dumebi, Deputy Director, Labour and Employment, Anamah Benjamin Ugochukwu, Deputy Director, Art, Culture and Creative Economy, Olanrewaju Adenike Omolara, Chief Executive Officer, Police Affairs, Engr. Geoffrey Wetjwak Jwal, Deputy Director, Industry, Trade and Investment and Chinwe Chikelu Ilori, Assistant Director, Marine and Blue Economy.

 

In her Welcome Remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Service Policies and Strategies Office, Dr. Deborah Odoh noted that “we are grateful to the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation for her goodwill that enabled us to get these consolation prizes for these crop of Civil Servants, who have distinguished themselves in their various schedules of work."

 

Dr. Odoh also appreciated the HoSF for the leadership and examplenary lifestyle shown over the years in leading the Service to an enviable height, as well as providing enabling environment for Officers to exercise their capabilities and talents. “Our pledge is that we will continue to do more, even as she moves on to a higher height. We pledge to continuously make her proud, “she added.

 

The representative of the Awardees, Mr. Anamah Benjamin Ugochukwu, a Deputy Director, in the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy thanked the Head of Service for the gesture and pledged their unalloyed loyalty to the Government and the Civil Service, as well as continuous hard work.

 

The presentation ceremony was attended by the HoSF-Designate, Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack, OON, mni, Permanent Secretaries, Common Service Office (CSO)-OHCSF, Ramond Omachi, Service Policies and Strategies Office (SPSO)-OHCSF, Dr. Deborah Odoh and Career Management Office (CMO)-OHCSF, Mrs. Fatima Mahmood, Directors, staff, colleagues, family and friends of the awardees.
