HOCSF TRAINS 1,200 CIVIL SERVANTS ON PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT.

The Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation has trained over 1,200 officers in Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (MOPD) in the bid to enhance their on- the-job professionalism.

The Permanent Secretary, Common Services Office, Office of the Head Civil Service of the Federation, Mr. Ibrahim Yusuf disclosed this when he received the leadership of Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) led by 1st Vice President, Dr. James Ekarere Neminebor on a courtesy visit to his Office on Tuesday in Abuja.

He added that the Office of the Head of Service accords high priority to training of staff to ensure effective service delivery and attainment of national development goals.

Representing the Head of the civil Service of the Federation, the Permanent Secretary   assured ANAN members that the Office will continue to support the annual ANAN conferences by ensuring members of staff who belong to the association attend their conferences.

The President of ANAN, who was represented at the event by the 1st Vice-President, of ANAN, Dr. James Ekerare Neninebor, FCNA, stated that ANAN as a national accountancy body whose education and training programmes meet internationally accepted accountancy standards. He also said that ANAN is a member of International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), Board Member of Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA) and the second largest Professional Accountancy Organization in PAFA.

He added that ANAN is recognized as the leading professional accountants organization in public sector accounting in Africa, adding that the body should be accorded its rightful placement in the civil service.
