The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HoSF), Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, CFR, has been conferred with an Honourary Fellowship of the Occupational Safety and Health Association, United Kingdom

(OSHAssociation UK) by the Regional President, Nigeria, HRH (Dr.) Olusegun Aderemi. It is in recognition of her diligence and commitment to ensuring a safe and conducive atmosphere for work to thrive in the Federal Civil Service.

Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHAssociation) is an international professional organisation registered in England and Wales, dedicated to ensuring occupational safety and health in land, sea, air and the general environment.

Dr. Yemi-Esan, CFR, received the honorary fellowship on Thursday, August 8, 2024, in Abuja.

Occupation Safety and Health Association, UK- Nigeria Region, is one of the leading institutions, worldwide, that provides health, safety, security and environmental training and certification geared toward reducing hazards and incidences in the workplace and ensuring a safer work environment for all.

While thanking the Regional President, and members of OSHAssociation, UK and other Fellows for the honour and prestige, the HoSF stated that, in order to get the best out of any worker, you have to provide a safe and conducive working environment.

She also disclosed that the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF), established   a fully equipped Wellness Centre to guarantee the safety and mental health of Civil Servants.

In his Remarks, the Regional President revealed that Dr Yemi-Esan's impact extended far beyond the Service, adding that she has been a tireless advocate for occupational safety and health in the workplace.

He further buttressed that the HoSF has been a relentless champion for the rights and wellbeing of Civil Servants. He further explained that Dr Yemi-Esan has spearheaded groundbreaking initiatives that have revitalised the very foundation of our government machinery.

In her Welcome Address at the occasion, the Director Overseeing the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare in the OHCSF, Dr Comfort Adeosun, opined that the HoSF has, over the years, worked assiduously towards ensuring that the health and safety of Civil Servants is given the priority it truly deserves.

Dr Adeosun added that the award is a payback to Dr Yemi-Esan's inauguration of programmes, as well as projects for saving lives and enhancing workplace safety and wellbeing. 

She also made known that OSHA, over the years, has been collaborating with the Occupational Health, Safety and Environment (OHSE) Department, in the OHCSF, in building the capacities of OSHE Desk Officers in the various MDAs. 

The Acting Director, OHSE, Engr. Bello Kwali praised members of the 

Association for the honour bestowed on his principal, he also appreciated the support and presence of each and every one at the event.
