NEWLY APPOINTED, DEPLOYED PERMANENT SECRETARIES ASSUME OFFICE IN THE OHCSF

Following the recent approval of deployment and redeployment of some Federal Permanent Secretaries by the President, His Excellency Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation (OHCSF) has witnessed the handover and takeover ceremonies in two of its affected Offices namely, Service Policies and Strategies Office (SPSO) and Special Duties Office (SDO).

The outgoing Permanent Secretary, SPSO, Dr. Emmanuel Meribole, while handing over to his successor, Mr. Udo Okokon Ekanem took his time to explain the nitty-gritty of the Office such as the make-up of the departments and the project management teams, he will be working with.

According to Dr. Meribole, having worked closely with staff of the SPSO for about two years, he can attest to their good mannerism, competence and reliability, which he leveraged on. He thanked the entire staff for the enormous support received from them and also enjoined them to extend same to his colleague.

The incoming and newly deployed Permanent Secretary, Mr. Udo Okokon Ekanem disclosed that he has come to learn and work with existing staff, who, he said, are experts in their various fields. He assures staff of a harmonious working relationship, as a team, towards ensuring that synergy is achieved within and amongst Ministries.

Some of the Directors from the Department who spoke at the event, described Dr. Meribole as hard working and a goal getter, who within the period he superintended over the Office, changed things for the better.  He was commended for his dedication and commitment towards the implementation of Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021 - 2025 (FCSSIP25).

In a related development, the Office of the Special Duties, which has for months been overseen by a director, also witnessed the assumption of the newly deployed Permanent Secretary, Engr. Farouk Yusuf Yabo. He officially took over the duties of the Office from the Director, Civil Service Inspectorate (CSI), Mrs. Otemetela Olusanya.

At the event, Engr. Yabo urged the staff of the department to recognise the importance of the OHCSF as the main body holding every civil service system through the formulation and implementation of Federal Government’s policies and as such should be proud working therein. He assured working together with the entire staff to achieve the goal of the Office, having gotten the Head of Service’s full support.
