OHCSF PARTNERS WITH CIPM FOR A TRANSFORMATIVE SERVICE

The Acting Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan has pledged continuous commitment to engaging and partnering with members and Management of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) towards positively transforming the Civil Service. Dr. Folasade stated this while receiving in audience Management and members of the CIPM team chosen to work with a dedicated Project Management Team (PMT) from the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.

2.       In her introductory remarks, the Vice-President, CIPM, Mrs Titilayo Akin- sanya, said that their visit is to foster an on-going collaboration with the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, stressing that the Institute is always the best and will continue to give the best to its members and clientele. She reaffirmed the Institute’s support and commitment to all Federal Government policies and programmes, disclosing that they are already in partnership with some State Governments geared towards an improved Civil Service.

3.       In their presentation, CIPM is partnering the Office in the following four core areas namely; Design and Implementation of Performance Management Systems, Support for Manpower Development Institutes, Internship Programmes and Data and Analytics. According to the timelines of the PMT-CIPM’s collaboration, it is expected to formally take off by February 15, 2020 with activities although the year, winding up by December 31, 2020.

4.       While responding, the Acting Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, appreciated the Institute for expanding the scope of Engagement from two thematic areas to four, also assuring them of the competency of the constituted PMT. She further urged them to review the already proposed timelines with a view to evaluating performance after the first six months of the assignment.

5.       In her Vote of Thanks, the Permanent Secretary, Service Policies and Strategies Office, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, expressed appreciation to the Acting Head of Service of the Federation for her desire to transform the civil service in order to maximize performance as well as being innovative. She also thanked members of the two teams for their acceptance and zeal to serve.
