OHCSF TO PARTNER COMMUNICATIONS AND DIGITAL ECONOMY MINISTRY TO TRAIN CIVIL SERVANTS

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan has solicited for partnership with the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy to improve the digital training of Civil Servants in the country.

Dr Yemi-Esan made the appeal when she received the Honourable Minister of the Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, in her office, on Thursday, 5th March, 2020.

The HCSF stressed that the Civil Service has a large number of programmes driven by technology hence the need for collaboration and cooperation between the OHCSF and Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.

She emphasized that for Civil Servants to be effective in the discharge of their duties there is need for support and deployment of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) training and re-training for civil servants. Dr Yemi-Esan therefore solicited for the expansion of the ICT facilities in PSIN for the training of Civil Servants.

She also appeal for support on the ICT software application for Integrated Payroll Personnel Information System (IPPIS).

According to her, IPPIS has service wide application hence the need for complete assessment module.

 The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami,  assured the HCSF of the Ministry’s readiness to give all the needed support, collaboration and assistance in the area of E-training and capacity building and infrastructure that will assist in the training of Civil Servants.
